Several hundred green roofs have been installed over the last 15 years and in some cases bad installation has led to problems and dissatisfied owners and tenants. Our service is independent and includes a detailed and forensic assessment of specifications, contracts and the build-up and vegetation of the green roofs in question.

The Green roof inspections include site visits and assessment of what was installed and how this compares to what was agreed. An assessment of the vegetation cover and type is then undertaken and compared to what was originally specified. Maintenance (or no maintenance) regimes are reviewed and a series of recommendations to resolve issues are presented in our detailed green roof inspections reports.
Depending on the circumstances and needs of clients, recommendations can also be made, on request, as part of our service to improve the look and biodiversity benefits the green roofs could provide.
Members of GRC have sat on and advised on various codes of practice processes including the Green Roof Code and FLL (German Green Roof Guidelines). GRC has over 15 years of working in the Green Roof industry. We have a comprehensive knowledge of both the types of systems that architects can specify and the various green roof suppliers and contractors.
Working to the Green Roof Code of Practice
All green roof inspections take into consideration the UK code of practice for green roofs. Green roof specifications can vary in terms of what is the desired effect by the architects and consultants. Any green roof inspection needs to take into account what the intended aspiration was. Also, depending on maintenance regimes that were put in place can effect the look of the roof in question.
